Our Story

Across cultures, the kitchen is where traditions live on. For us, it was New York’s Sunday sauce.

Mamadoro Was Born

Mamadoro was born from a passion to bring back the authentic, nostalgic taste of the Italian American Sunday sauce I grew up with, rooted in the greater New York metro area and Long Island, where I am originally from.

Every Sunday, the women in my family gathered in the kitchen, spending hours perfecting a sauce that brought everyone together around the table. It was the meal we all looked forward to. The one that slowed the day down, filled the house, and gave everyone a reason to sit together, whether the conversation was loud or quiet.

How It Started

Sometimes, the best moments came after the first bite, when the table went still. When no one said much because the sauce spoke for itself. You knew it was good when everyone stopped talking.

I was fortunate to grow up with two Italian aunts, Rose and Maria, each known for her own version of a classic pomodoro sauce. While their flavor profiles were different, they shared one essential ingredient: the finest imported San Marzano style tomatoes from Italy. No matter the variation, their sauces were always rich, balanced, and unforgettable.

The Mother Of Sauce

The name Mamadoro reflects where it all started. I created it to mean “the mother of sauce,” inspired by the role the women in my family played in keeping Sunday sauce tradition alive. Their care, patience, and approach to cooking shaped the way Mamadoro is made today.

Today, Mamadoro brings that same old world New York Sunday sauce experience to your table. It is the kind of sauce that transports you somewhere familiar. Back to the first time you tasted a truly great sauce, whether it was at your favorite Italian restaurant, on a trip to Italy, or right at home.

More Than Flavor

Mamadoro is about more than flavor. It is about the moments food creates, the people it brings together, and the quiet appreciation that happens when something is done right.

You no longer need to spend hours in the kitchen crafting the perfect Sunday sauce. We have done the work for you, so you can focus on what matters most, sharing meals, moments, and memories that last.

Buon Appetito,
